Associação Transumância e Natureza (ATN) | www.atnatureza.org
ATN is an non-profit environmental NGO, created in Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo in June 2000 with the main goal to contribute actively for nature conservation in the region of Riba-Coa, mainly the Côa, Agueda and Douro rivers. Since 2000 ATN has acquired several properties in the Special Protection Areas of Coa Valley (PTZPE0039) and Douro Internacional e Vale do Agueda (PTZPE0038) where several conservation projects were developed, especially focused on cliff-breeding birds, such as Bonelli's eagle, golden eagle, eagle owl, griffon vulture, Egyptian vulture and Black Stork.

Palombar - Associação de Conservação da Natureza e do Património Rural (Association for Nature and Rural Heritage Conservation) is an environment non-profit organisation, founded in 2000, whose main goals are conserving agricultural, wild and forest ecosystems, as well as preserving its built heritage and respective traditional construction techniques. Even though its intervention territory has been expanding, it has mainly worked in Trás-os-Montes, Portugal.

The Guarda Nacional Republicana, whose origins date back to 1801, at which time the Guarda Real de Polícia (Royal Police Guard) was created, is a Security Force constituted by military elements that are organized in a Special Body of Troops, which actively and permanently veil for the execution of the law and are dedicated to the security and public order maintenance cause as well as to the protection and defence of the people and their goods.

Castilla y León is the regional government entity that is responsible for the conservation and management of the environment in its territory. With regard to the conservation of biodiversity as a hallmark of the Community, management revolves around the measures included in conservation plans for protected species and management plans for the Natura 2000 network of Castile and Leon, in order to maintain and enhance its populations and habitat. In this sense, Junta de Castilla y León has developed specific legislation to achieve these objectives and sets specific actions to improve the knowledge of the populations of protected species and their evolution, as well as the control and maintenance of favorable habitats to ensure there is appropriate breeding and feeding territories, etc.
